Leadership Institute
The Leadership Institute's Residency Program trains competent church leaders for longevity. It addresses the most dangerous deficiencies for ministry leaders by providing hands-on training in thirteen competency areas that cannot be taught effectively in a classroom.
In addition, residents have three layers of mentorship, allowing them to provide an unprecedented 1:6 student to coach/mentor ratio. Upon completion, participants have the tools necessary to be a well-equipped leader who is prepared for a lifetime of ministry service. I personally have gained mentoring access to three of the pastors that are leading the program as well as two professional coaches at the church campus that I am working out of. On top of that, I have a personal mentor I meet with once a month to help me continue to develop my personal goals and spiritual growth. CCV’s partnerships with Christian universities allow qualified residents to complete their undergraduate degree, or earn a master’s degree, in conjunction with their residency training. Adult professionals who are not interested in pursuing college credit have the option of participating within a non-academic level. I am participating as an Undergraduate resident with Ozark Christian College. This ten month program is taking the place of my traditional senior year. Training Each resident is enrolled in seven general leadership competencies (Events & Project Management, First Impressions, Leadership Practices 500 & 600, Life of Christ, Staff Development, and Volunteer Management). Two individualized field emphases are selected for the remaining six (three each) competencies. The individual areas for field emphasis are: Children & Family, Church Administration, Multi-sites, Inter-Cultural Studies, Pastoral, Special Needs, Sports, Youth, and Worship/Production. I have had exposure to more than six of these, however the two areas I have been focused in are Pastoral and Youth/Students Ministries. Each competency provides real-world project-based training by qualified CCV staff and members. The custom assessment program provides coaches a platform to score residents on performance throughout the residency.
